Until we meet again

Teachers are missing their students and school families.
Students are missing their teachers.
The suspension of in-class instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult for so many people in School District No. 57. But, in a heartwarming display of community outreach, staff members from elementary schools across the district have been making videos to boost the spirits of their kids and remind them how much their teachers are feeling their absence. Below are some of those videos. We invite you to give them a look. And we dare you not to smile!

History was made on Nov. 29, 2019 when the Lheidli T’enneh Nation hosted the first Balhats (Potlatch) in its territory in 73 years. An All Clans Balhats was hosted to celebrate the unique partnership between the Lheidli T’enneh Nation and School District No. 57 (Prince George). The two groups have worked diligently over the past few years to develop a Local Education Agreement and support the Aboriginal Advisory Committee. An All Clans Balhats was identified as the appropriate ceremony to be held to recognize the unique partnership. This video, courtesy of the Lheidli T'enneh Nation, captures the spirit of the momentous day, which unfolded at Uda Dune Baiyoh (House of Ancestors) in Prince George.
